The unavoidable regression
blossomed between midnight and
the smell of coffee in the morning
at the start of the seventeenth day

Thrown back into the indignation
that seemed to be watering down
with every moment of wasted time
Now aware that pain is here to stay

For I have seen a glimpse of her
through the eyes of an online
big brother-like surveillance site
Wasting hours watching the sea
rush to the windy Texel* shore
nowadays there’s no way to hide
My eyes get tired of looking
for the one that disables my
rational way of behaving and
holds the key to my locked-up pride
